How do I make a video call in an external chat?
-
To be able to start a video call with a visitor in an external chat, you as a company need to have this extra feature. In addition, both you and the visitor need to have a working webcam with a microphone and accept that the ImBox client/browser may use the camera and microphone.
This is how you send an invite and start a video call:
Only you as an agent can invite the visitor and start a video call. To do this, you click the little camera icon in the upper right corner:
Once the invite has been sent, you see a green bar in the top of the ImBox client (in the picture below). You're able to cancel the invite by clicking the red button to the right.
The visitor gets to choose if she or he wants to accept or decline the invite. The visitor also has the option to deny the video call but accept the call with audio only:
If the visitor accepts your invite:
If the visitor accepts the inivte, the video call starts. To the visitor, it looks like below in an ongoing video call. The agent is found in the big picture while the visitor is found in the small picture in the lower right corner. The visitor can minimize the window to be able to see the chat text content, and he or she can whenever choose to mute him- or herself or hang up the video call.
To the agent, it looks like below. It's possible to maximize the window, mute the microphone and cancel the call.
To cancel the video call, you click the red button.
