What does Invite, in an ongoing call, mean?

  • The Invite function can be used in two ways:

    1. Invite – You can invite a third person to the call, which is useful when you want to make a so-called warm transfer instead of a call transfer, where you directly forward a call

    2. Invite as Coach – You can invite a colleague to coach you during the call

    1. Invite – Invite a third person to an ongoing call
Maybe you want to invite a colleague, supplier or other person, for her or him to take over an ongoing call that you have? By using Invite in an ongoing call, you can invite a colleague or suchlike to the call.

You either choose a contact from your contact list or you enter the number manually in the input field above more. (Below more you can choose country code for the number that you will invite.) You then click the small cirkle with the plus sign/Invite.

If the person answers, you will see two numbers in the green bar at the top instead of one and you will thus be three people in the call. You can be a maximum of three people in one conversation.

If it turns out that you yourself are, after all, better suited to take the call, you can remove the third person from the call by clicking the cross/Remove, next to the number in the green bar. If the person you invited is better suited, you can leave the call yourself by clicking the red button/Hangup.

If you invite a person and he or she can't take the call or doesn't answer for some other reason, nothing happens – you and the caller simply continue the call as before.

Tip! If you invite a colleague and you and your colleague want to talk together first, before the customer and the colleague continue the call themselves, you can put the customer on hold until you and your collegaue are done talking – the customer then won't hear what you say. You can also turn on the setting Auto-hold on invite, that you find in Settings > Phone.

    2. Invite as Coach – let a colleague coach you
If you want a colleague to coach you during an ongoing call, you can use the function Invite as Coach. This works similar to the Invite function above, but in this case the person that will coach you has to be a logged in agent, and in stead of clicking the small cirkle with the plus sign you click the ear/Invite as Coach. The customer won't hear the coach.

If the colleague accepts the invite, the collegue is placed next to the customer in the phone bar at the top of the ImBox client. It says COACH below the colleague's name and you also see that both of you are talking to the same customer below Agents.

You can always remove the coaching colleague from the call by clicking the cross, and you can also leave the call yourself by clicking Leave call:
