What do the statuses Online, Away and Offline mean? How do I change my status?

  • The different statuses
    When logged in there are two statuses available – Online and Away. If an agent is Online, a green little dot is visible next to the profile picture, and the agent is then visible in the chat for visitors on your website (if the agent is a Front office agent), and also available for internal chats from other agents. If the agent is Away, the dot is orange. The agent in this status is not visible for any chats with visitors, but is still able to receive internal chats.

    If the agent isn't logged in at all, but is Offline, the dot is grey.

    Change your status
    If you manually want to change your status to Away or Online, you click the toggle switcher in the lower left corner.

    To change your status to Online, click the toggle switcher so that it goes from transparent to filled.

    If you no longer wish to receive chats from website visitors, you change the status to Away. Click the toggle switcher so that it goes from filled to transparent.

    If you have ongoing chats when you change your status to Away, you will still be able to finish them off after you've changed the status. However, you will not receive new ones. Please note that when choosing the status Away you manually have to reactivate the Online status when wishing to go Online again.

    If you want to log out from the client, click the profile picture in the lower left corner > Logout.

    Auto Away
    Auto away is a setting that sets your status as Away automatically when you've been inactive for a certain amount of time. These settings can be found under Settings > Messages > Auto away. When yet again active in the client and/or on your computer the status automatically changes back to Online.

    Agents – see your colleagues' statuses

    If you go to the Agents tab in the client you see six views. In these, you can find who are Online, Away, Front office etc.:

    • All
      Lists all agents.
    • Front Office
      Lists the Front office agents who are able to receive external chats.
    • Back Office
      Lists the Back office agents who are not able to receive external chats.
    • Online
      Lists all agents who are Online right now. If these agents are Front office agents, they can receive chats on your website.
    • Away
      Lists all agents who are Away right now.
    • Offline
      Lists all agents who aren't logged on.
